Description The report from the 2023 Annual Agricultural Survey presents main findings from the PP and PH collected data.
Abstract The 2023 Annual Agricultural Survey reveals that there are about 1,256,456 agricultural households (AgHH) in Sierra Leone with a total agricultural population of 6,666,029. The majority of these agricultural households (about 73 percent) are headed by males. In addition, only 3.6% of household members attended formal training in agriculture and 60% percent of the agricultural population can not read and write in any language. Most of agricultural households are small-scale, practicing mainly crop cultivation or livestock rearing. Majors crops harvested in the country are rice, cassava, and cocoa, while the main livestock type raised by holdings is chicken.
